Tire Testing Standards

From the development of a new tire to the release for the market as well as during production process, tires are tested extensively.

Specially in the final finishing area of a tire production following standard tests are very common:

  • TU tire uniformity = force variation measurement
  • TG tire geometry = tire form variation and surface failure analysis
  • TB tire balancing = weight distribution or unbalance measurement

Additionaly other tests may be applied like x-ray, shearography, acoustic measurements, rollig resistance.

Worldwide several suppliers of test equipment provide machines for automatic testing of these physical charateristics, specially for the above mentioned 3 methods.
